fenced in…

Spring has shown us it beautiful possibilities in the past few days and let me tell you it was wonderful. We took to the outdoors in full force and made good use of the playground down the street.

DSC00922Gwen, Harrison, and Lexi played nicely together and that was a joy.

We were lucky that the nice weather held out while we had a new fence put in on the side of our house.  I was scrambling for my camera to get a before photo but the workers were way too fast for me. By the time I got my camera they had basically demolished and hauled away the whole fence.

DSC00926This is looking from our yard into our neighbors. We both have dogs and they had chewed up the bottom and were getting in and out of their designated yards, that is when you know it is time to replace the fence.

DSC00927James told me that I was probably freaking out the workers by taking photos, as if it were for some kind of insurance purpose, I would not have thought that far ahead, but I would think of snapping a few photos for a blog. I guess that I where my mommy mind automatically goes.

Now for the AFTER:

DSC00930Ta Da!!  Too bad it makes the rest of the fences look like crap.

DSC00931Thank you fence guys. It even smells like freshly sawed wood.  Ahhhh.

DSC00932And look, no dogs will be getting under this fence. Thank goodness.  Spock used to just wait by the fence for the neighbor dogs to come out and play, but now all he does is…

DSC00937Chew on the left over wood chips from the old fence.

DSC00935Be careful if you get too close to the wood scraps he will take you out with his little pink tongue and all.

DSC00934Oh yeah there is a lot of this now too. We call this the depressed waiting. Since the neighbor dogs can no longer get through the fence Spock kind of mopes around and gives us some pretty pathetic looks. Sorry buddy but I am sure that you will get over it. I know I am.

Spring? I don’t know that word. It sounds nice though.
How exciting to have a new fence! Maybe you need a cat to keep Spock occupied. Worked for Sadie!

Wow I’m with Becky, What is Spring? We are supposed to get more snow today and tomorrow, Oh well, that is Utah. You gotta love it or move. Fences really do help neighbors have a better relationship. Our fence was great. Keeps kids in and everyone else not personally invited out. And it looks like you have a very nice fence. Have a great week in the nice weather. Love all of us.

Wow~
A much better solution than chicken wire and cinder blocks! Who knew? It’s amazing what the threat of potential suitors running around in the backyard will do–maybe that’s why Ryan and I haven’t bothered with the fence…
I think the fence turned out fantastic and I’m glad you provided footage of the demolition. Maybe they did an extra great job because of your documentation?! Nothing like making a few people nervous with a camera. :)
I know that Spock face well and I think it is lovesickness. At least he’s got the wood chips to keep him busy, yes I think I would prefer a moping pet to a broken fence any day.
