Let’s recap and move on

I feel like I have been stuck in something of a vortex whipping us around from thing to thing and now weeks have gone by and I am not quite sure how I lost track of everything. Now it is time to do a little catch up so that we can get things back to a normal routine around here, whatever that may be now.

DSC00867The day after Christmas we found ourselves at none other than Chuck E. Cheeses with the kids because apparently to our kids that is the best place ever.

DSC00868Here is how they will learn to be professional basketball players. James is teaching them some amazing technique.

DSC00872Here is our Christmas day with Grandma and Grandpa Barlow. Gwen is wearing the boots that she got while she opens the other presents. Harrison had the perfect reaction to opening gifts. He was really excited and to each gift he yelled “Wow! Look at this”.

Here is Gwen opening the pinky pie my little pony that she has been asking for since the beginning of December. She was so excited, I don’t think that she played with much else the rest of the day.

For the first time since we have been married we did a Christmas dinner at our home, I made prime rib and I was so proud. It turned out great and I think that all we had left over were the bones. (by the way mom that rub recipe was amazing thanks)

We took a little adventure to a book store and Gwen found this little shark that if you bumped it, it would giggle and vibrate and make really loud laughing sounds…she carried it around the store the entire time knocking it into the shelves to make it laugh. I am pretty sure that everyone in the store was happy to see us leave.  But before we did Gwen made sure to read a little story to the shark in the kids section, which was built like a castle.  See her holding his little flipper as they read together. It was pretty cute.

DSC00878I think that we have been out and about more in the last week and a half than in the last 3 months. The holidays are totally crazy, but at least they are never dull. We had a great holiday and hope that everyone else did too.

That prime rib looks delicious! Your mom made some for us on Christmas and I must admit BEST prime rib I have ever tasted! So I can imagine yours was divine if you two are sharing recipes! :] Mmmmm, getting hungry now.. Sounds like you guys had a great holiday!! Your kids are soooo cute, Gwen with her little pony and shark and Harri’s reactions, “wow!” Love it! Happy New Year Barlow family!

Lonna the prime rib looks great so juicy and yummy. Glad it worked out. The kids are getting so big I can’t believe it. It’s been fun here getting to know Ariell better she really is a sweetheart and we hope Spencer knows what he’s got and holds on to her. We’ve also had fun getting to know our soon to be daughter-in-law. She is perfect for Paul (imagine that) and we’re so glad she said yes. Happy New Year to all the Barlows down there in Texas . we love you. Dattages

Does Chucky Cheese actually have good pizza? Harrison would be the perfect person to give presents to, he would make anyone feel great for their gift!

There you are. I have been checking your blog on my link and nothing has been updated for the past 3 weeks, and I was getting worried. I am glad that I found you, alive and blogging. I will be fixing this issue promptly.

It looks like you had a great Christmas, wild and crazy just like it should be.
Did Santa bring you a camera?

I’m impressed with you Christmas cooking! I’ve never made prime rib. I’d probably over cook it and ruin it.

I think I need to take my kids to Chuck E Cheese. I love pizza!

Ok, for about a full minute I could not figure out why in the world you set your meat on the carpet in front of your tree. I almost thought you were trying to get an “artsy” picture as if to say it was as good as a present or something….
I’m glad to see that your “artsy” picture actually turned out to be your counter top. hahahah.

What a Christmas! How nice that the family came to you so that you didn’t have to pack everyone up and haul them all over the western U.S. That would have made for even crazier 3 weeks.

Chuck E Cheese, who doesn’t like it there? I love the photo of Gwen holding the dolphin fin. She is so cute!
