A date with some spurs
On Saturday night James and I were able to have a little date night out. Ryan and Leslie took our kids and put them to bed might I add, totally amazing, and James and I had dinner and took in a basketball game with the spurs. It was a blow out game against Washington, and it was really fun.
Here we are at the AT&T center in San Antonio. It was a fun experience for me, I had never been to one of their games before. Usually we just watch the games on t.v. and so it was a totally different feel to be there, and so close to the court. I am a people watcher and so I was easily distracted by all the things going on with the fans around us. There were a trio of old ladies just in front of us, and they were so into the game I was totally amused by them. If you think that a BYU fan has team spirit you haven’t seen anything. It was kind of nuts, but I liked it.
The other thing that I was highly amused with that night was Washington’s player number 12 Earl Boykins. In this picture you can see something kind of interesting…he looks a bit shorter than the other guys right. Well he is. He is 5-5 and loaded with energy. I enjoyed watching him play guard to Tony Parker. Yes THE Tony Parker who was a rock star in last nights game.
Who knew that I would be so interested in basketball, or that I would have a “team” that I would cheer for? I guess it just goes to show what kind of influence your spouse can have on you…I wonder if James will ever enjoy some of the things that I like to do? Here is to hoping.

spurs games are fun. the fans get way into the games. brent and i were able to go a couple of years ago and it’s a lot of fun. glad you got to get out and enjoy a little date night.
How fun! I love going to basketball games…too bad we haven’t been to one in forever. I’m glad it was fun experience for you guys and a great date night.
Again Lonna, what is with you looking so glamorous!? What is your secret. Please pass it on to the rest of us
P.S. I too am more into the crowd than the game. But it’s the reason that I LOVE going to live games. Hey, at least it gets me there.
What fun! I loved seeing the picture of you and James you are such a handsome couple!
Well I really think we need to use this system more often-who can argue with Spurs tickets in exchange for a couple of hours of Gwen sitting in the closet by herself perfectly happy playing ponies and Harry eating his weight in pizza? You know L & M were devastated to find out their cousins were not in fact sleeping over. I’m pretty sure you could have hit a few more things San Antonio has to offer while you were there.
So glad you had such a good time-it got me pumped for our turn in January.
I am with you on the hobbies thing, yes this isn’t the first husband hobby you and I have taken on. Movies for
example, but who can argue if it means quality time and a happy hubby.
Who knows, maybe James will take up knitting?!
Oh and you have not seen BYU fans until you have seen my dad!!
Looks like a fun time at the game! And I love that picture that James took of you!! As for Luke and his hair cuts…he gets them about every 4-6 weeks, but he only gets one from his dad once a year
I wish there was an easier way to cut boys hair I’ll tell you that! Maybe we should find those old flowbee things! Good Luck with Harrison’s next one!
