What a camera is supposed to do…

James is a fancy camera guy. So the last camera he purchased had all the bells and whistles so that he could pretty much do everything you might ever need to with it. I tried to read the manual and I was lost…way lost reading through it. Then my friend Katie published a book and started offering workshops to help and answer questions for people like me…well basically for anyone who has questions about their cameras.  So after I picked her brain about the camera I have, this is what I was able to do all by myself…

This is the toothy grin I have been trying to capture for months.

I am SO excited to be able to use the camera, and James is SO excited that I am not asking him to take and edit photos for me anymore. It is a total win win in the Barlow home.  A little thanks to the people that made my new happiness possible: James for buying the camera and supporting me in using it, Katie for helping me to understand and use the camera, Cannon for making the tricky but nice camera,  Lightroom for your editing fun, and last but not least my kids for letting me get in their faces.

These are awesome Lonna! I keep bumping into Stella’s face on the website… She is beautiful. Sometime I would like to meet her.

I love it. She is so beautiful, she reminds me of her mom. If I would have known how to take pictures maybe i would have pictures to remind me of how cute my own kids were. thanks James and Katie because we are the beneficiaries so we can see our cute grandkids.

Good camera work! Stella is such a doll! If only I could move to Austin so you could take pictures of my kids. I took Kaitlin to the Target portrait studio for her 4 year pictures. I usually like target because the pictures are cheap. Not this time! Plus the guy taking the pictures didn’t do so great.

first, that top picture is totally gwen, not stella. And second, where is Harrison and who is that tall, grown-up looking kid in the picture? It is really starting to freak me out how much your kids are growing up.

Kudos on figuring out your camera. I’m still rocking the point and shoot. I’m beyond intimidated trying to figure out a “real” camera that I don’t know if I could ever get one.
